  1. The Direct Entry is different from UTME: The JAMB Direct Entry (DE) form is distinct from the JAMB UTME form. The UTME form is for candidates seeking admission into the first year of a university program.
  2. Registration Location: You can only register for JAMB Direct Entry at JAMB offices.
  3. Single application per year: You cannot apply for JAMB Direct Entry and UTME in the same calendar year.
  4. Online application: You can only fill out the JAMB DE form via the JAMB portal.
  5. Accepted qualifications: JAMB recognizes and accepts only twelve qualifications/certificates.
  6. Validity of statement of result: The statement of result is accepted for registration only within three years of the award date.
  7. Upgrade option: Candidates can upgrade from UTME to DE if their DE results are not yet released during UTME registration or if they indicate they are awaiting A-level results.
  8. Cost breakdown: The DE fee for the 2024/2025 session is N3,500. Additional charges include N700 for CBT Centre registration service, N1,500 for CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME, and N500 for bank charges/commission.   3. POS Payment: Pay via Point of Sale (POS) at any accredited CBT center or JAMB office.

Steps to Register for JAMB Direct Entry

Create your JAMB profile

  • Send your National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019 or 66019 via text message in the following format: ‘NIN [space] 11-digit NIN number.’
  • Example: NIN 00123456789
  • Ensure there is a space between the word ‘NIN’ and your 11-digit NIN number.
  • You will receive a confirmation code. This is the phone number that you will use for all communications related to your application/examination.

Log into the JAMB portal with the code

Use the confirmation code you received to log into the JAMB portal.

Obtain the JAMB e-PIN

  • Visit any accredited bank, CBT center, or embassy (for candidates in foreign countries) to obtain the JAMB e-PIN.
  • Provide your confirmation code and pay the required fee to get the e-PIN.

Receive confirmation message

After sending a message to 55019 or 66019, you will receive:

  • A 10-digit profile code.
  • Your registered name with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
  • Total cost for UTME with and without the Mock exam.

Present the profile code for e-PIN procurement

  • Present the profile code at the designated point of purchase (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD partners) to obtain the form e-PIN.
  • The form e-PIN will be sent to you as a text message.

Proceed to JAMB accredited CBT center for registration

Present the e-PIN obtained at any JAMB-accredited CBT center to complete your registration process.

Steps to Retrieve a Lost Profile Code

If you’ve lost your profile code for JAMB Direct Entry, follow these steps to retrieve it:

  1. Send [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019: Send the word ‘RESEND’ as a text message to either 55019 or 66019 from the same cell phone number you registered with.
  2. Receive the Profile Code: The Profile Code will be retrieved and delivered to your registered cell phone number.
  3. For Lost e-PIN: If you haven’t received or lost your e-PIN, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or Direct Entry, respectively, from your registered cell phone number.
  4. Retrieve e-PIN: Go ahead to the e-PIN, which JAMB will send to your registered cell phone number.

2024 JAMB DE Form Application for Foreign Countries

For candidates applying from foreign countries, here are the details:

  1. Registration Fee: The registration fee is $30 in the local currency of each of the nine foreign countries.
