Android Launches 'Find My Device Feature' to Help in Tracking Smartphones

Google Launches New Feature On Android

It should be noted that the global launch of the new feature begins in the USA and Canada. According to Google, the new feature is secured and private by design.

Android Types Eligible for Google’s New Feature

The new feature works with Androids running on 9+. According to an Android blog post, phones with OS 6 and above can also use the Find My Device app.

Additionally, you can also access the app in a web browser on laptops and tablets.

According to Google, it is integrating Bluetooth tracker tags from Chipolo and Pebblebee in the Find My Device app. The tags will be built specifically for the Find My Device network and will be “compatible with unknown tracker alerts across Android and iOS to help protect users from unwanted tracking.”
