Apple has released iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, launching two of the most powerful and advanced models to date. These new smartphones bring major improvements in design, performance, camera technology, and battery life, setting a new standard in the smartphone world.
Apple yesterday introduced iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max with a fresh, striking design. Both phones are powered by the new A19 Pro chip, which is the most powerful and efficient chip Apple has ever made for iPhones. This chip boosts gaming, camera capabilities, and smart features with Apple’s intelligence. The phones feature an Apple-designed vapor chamber built into a strong and lightweight aluminum body, which helps keep the phones cool for better performance and longer battery life.

A big highlight of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max released is their camera system. Each model has three powerful 48-megapixel Fusion cameras—a Main, Ultra Wide, and a brand-new Telephoto lens. Together, these cameras offer the equivalent of eight lenses, including the longest optical zoom ever on an iPhone, with an 8x zoom. The front camera gets an upgrade too. The new 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera offers a wider view and sharper selfies. It also supports group selfies that smartly adjust the frame using AI, and can record ultra-stabilized 4K HDR videos on both front and rear cameras simultaneously. This makes the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max perfect for both casual users and professional content creators.
Both models have a new Ceramic Shield 2 front cover, which offers three times better resistance to scratches. For the first time, the back of the iPhone is also protected by Ceramic Shield, making these phones more durable than ever. The displays come in two sizes—6.3 inches for the iPhone 17 Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 17 Pro Max—and support bright, sharp visuals with a Super Retina XDR display and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming.
Performance-wise, the A19 Pro chip shines by delivering up to 40% better sustained performance than previous models, thanks to its advanced 6-core CPU and GPU with Neural Accelerators. This means the phones handle demanding apps, complex AI, and high-end games much better. The phones also include the new N1 wireless chip that supports the latest Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread technologies for faster and more reliable connectivity.
Battery life has improved significantly. Thanks to the efficient A19 Pro chip and the larger battery made possible by the redesigned aluminum unibody with better heat management, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max offer the best battery life in iPhone history. Both models can charge up to 50% in just 20 minutes with a compatible high-wattage USB-C power adapter.
Apple has introduced three new colors for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max: deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver. Pre-orders start on Friday, September 12, with availability from Friday, September 19.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, said, “iPhone 17 Pro is by far the most powerful iPhone we’ve ever made, with a stunning new design rebuilt from the inside out to maximize performance and deliver an enormous leap in battery life. With three 48MP Fusion cameras, a new Center Stage front camera experience, and pro-level video features, the creative opportunities are endless.”
The cameras also feature new professional video options like ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock, making these iPhones great tools for filmmakers and content creators who want to produce high-quality videos with their phones.
Apple has expanded its eSIM technology in these models, offering eSIM-only versions in several countries, which enhances security and convenience. These eSIM-only models have even larger batteries, providing up to 39 hours of video playback.
Pricing for the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 for the 256GB model, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 for the same base storage. The Pro Max also offers up to 2TB of storage for the first time.
Customers can trade in older iPhones for credit toward buying the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple is also offering free three-month subscriptions to services like Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple News+, and Apple TV+ for new buyers.
In summary, Apple has released iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max with a bold new design, the most powerful chip yet, outstanding cameras, and long-lasting battery life. These phones are built for anyone looking to step up their smartphone experience, whether for photography, gaming, or everyday use. Pre-orders are open from September 12, and these models will be available worldwide starting September 19.
This release marks a big leap forward for Apple’s flagship phones, clearly showing their push for the best performance and user experience yet with iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max released to the public.
