Our History

Helium Health, founded in 2016 by Adegoke Olubisi, Dimeji Sofowora, and Tito Ovia, has transformed the healthcare landscape by digitizing medical records, offering payment and financing solutions for clinics, and incorporating a telemedicine feature.

Operating in seven African countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Senegal, Cameroon, Uganda, and Kenya, Helium Health is the continent’s leading healthcare technology provider.

Empowering over 7,000 medical professionals, the platform facilitates over 300,000 patient visits monthly, revolutionizing healthcare access across Africa.

Before Helium Health’s inception, manual record-keeping led to data gaps, longer waiting times, and potential errors. In 2020, Helium Health secured $10 million in Series A funding, paving the way for expansion across African countries. 

Now, with a recent Series B funding round of $30 million in June 2023, Helium Health’s fintech product, HeliumCredit, is set to reach new heights. In total, Helium Health has raised an impressive $42.12 million.

Since 2016, Helium Health has taken hospitals, clinics and other health facilities digital almost instantly using their flagship Electronic Medical Records/Hospital Management Information System (EMR/HMIS) product.
