Vibranium Valley hosts African Diaspora Council in Lagos: The U.S. President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement (PAC-ADE) recently visited Vibranium Valley, a leading tech hub in Lagos, Nigeria.
The 12-member council, established by U.S. President Joe Biden, was welcomed by Tola Talabi, a Venture Garden Group (VGG) board member, and Moyosore Asubiojo, the General Manager of Vibranium Valley.
This visit marked an effort to enhance economic collaboration between the United States and Nigeria, leveraging the African diaspora to boost investments.

During the tour, the delegation experienced firsthand the innovative solutions developed by VGG’s portfolio companies, including Max, an EV and logistics company, eFTD Africa, an eco-friendly last-mile delivery service, CredPal, a fintech startup offering consumer credit, and GetEquity, an alternative private fund investment platform.
Moyosore Asubiojo, the General Manager of Vibranium Valley, highlighted the hub’s role in showcasing the Nigerian tech ecosystem’s innovative spirit and resilience.
“Vibranium Valley stands as a showcase of the Nigerian tech ecosystem’s innovative spirit and resilience. Our diverse range of startups and companies focuses on solving critical issues with technology across various sectors,” she stated.
The visit was not limited to the tech sector; the council also met with government representatives, civil society, and private sector players to discuss investments in education, entrepreneurship, health, and technology.
This aligns with the council’s goal of driving digital transformation and fostering inclusive and equitable economic growth in the digital space.
U.S. Consul General Will Stevens emphasized the significance of the visit, stating that it indicates the U.S. government’s willingness to explore areas to leverage the network and capacity of its diaspora community to bolster the country’s economic ties with Africa.
“The objective is to help us see how we can do more for the community,” he said.

The visit to Vibranium Valley was part of the council’s first trip to the African continent, with stops in Lagos and Abuja.
The council’s diverse members, representing the African diaspora from various backgrounds, are poised to play a crucial role in strengthening cultural, social, political, and economic ties between Africa and the United States.
As the African diaspora continues to play a significant role in the global economy, with Nigeria accounting for a substantial portion of sub-Saharan Africa’s total remittances, the PAC-ADE’s engagement with Vibranium Valley and other stakeholders in Nigeria signifies a promising step towards fostering deeper collaboration and investment opportunities.
