The portal can be used through the Kenya Power website or through the KPLC app. The app can be downloaded via the Apple Store or Google Play.

Apart from paying electrical bills and managing their accounts, the KPLC Self Service portal enables customers to carry out other activities like bill/meter query, New change holder requests, new supply application, complaints and suggestions, JUA for sure, Bill calculator and application form download among others.

Activities One can Carry out with the Kplc Self Service Portal

Complaint/Suggestion: Through the Self Service portal, customers can lodge complaints or indicate suggestions in different areas.

When you are in the kplc self-service portal, click on complaints/suggestions, indicate your name, phone number, mail address, and your complaint or suggestion, tick the captcha box, and then click submit. 

Bill/Meter Query: You can examine their electricity invoices for both the present and previous months, gaining insight into a detailed breakdown of their usage and associated charges.

To access this in the kplc Self-service portal, click on bill/query meter then search for it by account number or meter number then search for it.

Report Fraudsters: The ‘Jua for Sure’ feature in the Self Service Portal enables you to report fraudsters and fraudulent activities of Kenya Power Staffs or contractors.

Enquiry for Supply of Electricity: You can use the Kenya Power Self Service Platform to demand for new electricity supply.

You can keep track of the request and get the invoice, when the connection has been initiated.

Bill Calculator: The Kenya power Self Service platform can be used as a bill calculator to calculate your simulated bills.

Change Holder’s Details: Details of customers of Kplc can be changed and updated through the Kenya power Self Service Portal.

You can upload details such as your name, contact, email address, and postal address among other documents.

How to Register your Account on the Kplc Self Service Portal

If you want to utilize the Kenya Power self-service portal, then you have to register on the platform by providing details such as your email address, account number, document type, and document details among others.

Here is a detailed step-by-step guide on how to register on the Kenya Power self-service portal:

To begin the process, you should log in to the Kenya Power Website here https://www.kplc.co.ke/ 

After logging in, you will be directed to the homepage of the website. At the top left side of your screen you will see ‘Self-service Portal’ click on ‘Apply here’ underneath it. 

You will be directed to the Self-service portal here https://selfservice.kplc.co.ke/ then click on ‘register’

After clicking on register, you will go to the registration platform, indicate if you are registering as landlord or tenant.

Next, you have to indicate your account number( if you click on the drop down box in front of it, you will see where your account number is indicated in your electricity bill).

Then, under document type you can insert one of these documents; Your Personal Identification Number(PIN), National ID, Passport or Certificate of Registration.

After that, you should insert your document number, phone number, your email address, and confirm your email address. 

When you’re done, you should click on the captcha to indicate that you are not a robot.

Then tick the box underneath the captcha to agree with the terms and conditions.

Once you are through with these processes, a verification code will be sent to your email and phone number.

Insert the code in the registration form to verify your phone number and mail.

Once you have been verified, your account is ready for any of the services listed in the sub-heading above.
