37 Youths win 5m in Omniverse Africa Tech Competition

Nigeria’s technological future looks bright, with 37 exceptional young minds walking away as winners at the recently concluded Omniverse Africa Tech Competition. 

Organized by Ominiverse Africa, the tech division of the multifaceted Omniverse Tech Industry. 

The competition created a platform to discover and empower the next generation of technology innovators.

The contest, which attracted entries from all parts of Nigeria, witnessed a rigorous selection process entirely online. 

The shortlisted candidates then faced a series of challenges designed to test their technical skills, problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.

Omniverse Africa CEO Announces Immense Potential in Youths

Speaking at the grand ceremony held at Pop Central, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Solakunmi Adenipebi, managing director of Games Evolution Technology, highlighted the immense potential in Nigerian youths. 

He emphasized the importance of nurturing this capacity, describing the gaming industry – the brainchild of the Omniverse Africa Tech Competition – as “a great entrepreneurial venture for the next generation of Nigerian youth”.

Mr. Adenipebi also encouraged the government to actively support and promote the development of the sports industry, seeing that it can be a source of income.

Enthusiastic Participation from All Nigerian States

The Omniverse Africa Tech Competition saw enthusiastic participation from every country across Nigeria. 

These geographically diverse competitors reflected the breadth of technological talents across the country.

The competition format divided participants into teams, ensuring a level playing field and recognizing their excellence in specific technical areas. 

The names of the individual winners and their categories were not disclosed in the press release.

N5 Million Prize Pool Fuels Innovation and Growth

Excitement at the event reached fever pitch with the announcement of a total prize money of N5 million. 

This prestigious financial award serves two purposes: it recognizes the outstanding achievements of young winners and enhances their innovation and continuous improvement in technology.

They can use prize money to further develop their competitive winning ideas, pursue additional engineering courses, or invest in equipment that will enhance their future engineering endeavors.
