MyTherapist.ng, the top mental healthtech startup has partnered with WellaHealth, one of Nigeria’s biggest health-tech companies.
This collaboration is designed to enable Mytherapistng users purchase micro health insurance, thereby increasing the layer of protection they get from Health whilst also expanding services on offer by a mental health platform.
WellaHealth was founded in 2017 and its unique offering of affordable healthcare through partnership with pharmacies will be integrated right into MyTherapistng platform.
The integration will also allow MyTherapist.ng users access to a wider spectrum of health solutions – telemedicine, malaria tests and medication as well as diabetes blood pressure screening.
Oluwaseun Raphael Afolayan, CTO and Co-founder of MyTherapist.ng said: “This will only be accessible to our corporate clients for now. We believe Wellahealth provides a one-stop package for mental and physical health such that our employees can use it.”
Nigeria of over 200 million inhabitants has huge mental health problems with one in four people saying they have been suffering from such disturbances.
Nevertheless, the point prevalence of Nigerians with severe mental disorders who are receiving treatment is only 10.4%.
As MyTherapist.ng partners with WellaHealth, this will make MyTherapist.ng more accessible to potential users thereby removing barriers in mental health care and providing holistic healthcare support for the Mytherapist.ng community.

As one of the healthtech startups in Nigeria, MyTherapist.ng believes partnerships are critical to improving insurance access and overall healthcare availability.
Strategic partnerships have impacted on innovation and business growth. According to Forbes via a report by the BPI Network, 44% of companies seek partnerships for new ideas and perspectives that provide innovation.

Through this collaboration with WellaHealth, Zersorger Innovations hopes to improve mental health awareness in Nigeria, a country where people living with mental illnesses are often stigmatized and discriminated against.
MyTherapist.ng is also in talks with some of the top HMO organizations and other related healthtech startups, to enable a wider spread access of its services.
