MTN Uganda Wins Fastest Mobile Network Award from Ookla

MTN Uganda has been awarded with the fastest mobile network during the Q3 – Q4 2023. The participants were analyzed by the Ookla company, an internet testing and analysis company.

The award was given at a Mobile Award Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The telco company has been on a streak winning as this is not the first time the telecommunication company is winning this.

The MWC is a global platform for showcasing the creative innovations from telecommunications. The recognition given to MTN Uganda affirms MTN’s dedication to provide the best telecommunications service in the country. 

MTN Uganda Wins Ookla Award

MTN understands how important fast and reliable internet is in today’s world. They’ve invested in advanced technology and infrastructure to improve network speed, coverage, and reliability. 

This reveals their dedication to closing the gap between the digital divide and empowering communities with seamless connectivity solutions. In the Ookla speed test results, MTN Uganda achieved a whole download speed of 72.7 Mbps, followed by Airtel Uganda at 59.4 Mbps, and Lycamobile with a score of 3.39 Mbps. The Speed Score is calculated based on both download and upload speeds. 

MTN Investment In Network Infrastructure in Uganda

MTN’s commitment to excellence extends beyond just speed. Over the years, they have invested a whopping $300 million to expand their network infrastructure across Uganda. This aligns perfectly with the country’s National Broadband Policy and Vision 2040 goals of ensuring widespread internet access. 

Additionally, MTN also works closely with mobile manufacturers and distributors to make smartphones more affordable and accessible through financing options. This fantastic initiative reflects MTN’s vision of bringing the benefits of a modern connected life to all their customers.

With this, MTN Uganda has set itself ahead of other network types in the country.
