According to the latest update from Npower News, it’s important for Npower beneficiaries to be aware that the program and payments have not yet resumed. This delay is due to ongoing investigations into Betta Edu’s alleged involvement in misappropriation of public funds. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is actively pursuing this investigation.
Additionally, regarding the FG grant (federal government grant), Npower beneficiaries should understand that this grant is not exclusively for them but also extends to individuals involved in businesses.
The first phase of disbursing the FG grant to 100,000 businesses concluded on April 18, 2024. Despite expectations of a large-scale disbursement yesterday, as mentioned by Minister Doris Uzoka-Anite of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, the ministry is awaiting the next batch of qualified beneficiaries from local governments. Once this list is received, the next phase of FG grant disbursement will commence in batches.
It’s crucial for eligible applicants to have completed the nin verification process and own a business with an annual turnover of less than ₦3,000,000 to qualify for the FG grant. As of now, the FG grant has closed for applications, and beneficiaries are advised to remain patient as the disbursement will proceed in stages.
