The wait is finally over! After months of focused studying and taking exams, UCE (Ugandan Certificate of Education) candidates can now feel at ease and get ready to access their long-awaited results.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the UACE results for 2024, and this article will lead you through a straightforward process of checking them online or via SMS.

Finding Your UACE Index Number

Before you proceed to the result-checking methods, it is very important that you have your UCE index number at hand.

This number is unique and helps find your exam data.

The UACE index number can be found on the admission slip given to you at the start of the examination period.

Method 1: Checking of the UACE Results on the Internet via the UNEB Website

For those with internet connection, you can check your UACE results online through the UNEB website, which is by far the most convenient option. Here is a detailed guide:

Checking of the UACE Results on the Internet via the UNEB Website

1. Open your web browser.

2. Navigate to the UNEB website: Move to the Uganda National Examinations Board website at https://uneb.ac.ug/.

3. Find the Results Section: While on the UNEB site, find the specific part for results. This section might be titled “Results,” “Checking Results,” or something similar.

4. Enter Your UACE Index Number: On the results page, there is a search bar or form made just for typing your UACE index number. Carefully type your unique index number exactly as it appears on your admissions slip.

5. Submit and View Results: When you have entered your index number, click on “Search” or “Submit” button. The UNEB system will fetch your UACE results and show them on the screen. You will see how well you performed in each subject you took during the UCE examinations at that time.

Method 2: Checking UACE Results via SMS

If you do not have access to the internet, don’t worry. UNEB offers a convenient SMS service that you can use to check your UACE results. Here is how it works:

Checking UACE Results via SMS

1. Open your messaging app on your phone.

2. Compose a new message.

3. Craft your message: In the message body, type “UACE” followed by a space and then your UACE index number. Do not include any spaces in your index number. For instance, if your index number is U0001/001, you would type “UACE U0001/001”.

4. Send the message to 6600.

5. Receive your results: After sending the message, you will get a reply SMS from UNEB containing your UACE results. This message will show how you performed in each subject.

Important Reminders

Keep your UACE index number safe: Do not forget that you will need the UACE index number to get the results. Keep it in a secure place for further reference.

There might be problems with the UNEB website because of high traffic: On the day when UACE results are published, there may be some technical issues with the UNEB website because of a large number of visitors. If you experience any problems accessing the site, do not rush and try again later.

The SMS service may be delayed: Similarly, there can be delays in sending out SMSs to check UACE results due to high demand. If you don’t receive your results immediately, don’t worry. Wait a few minutes and try again.

The official results are on the UNEB website: The SMS service is only a brief preview of your results while the most comprehensive and detailed version of your UACE results can be accessed on the UNEB website.

Looking Forward

Congratulations to all UCE candidates for having reached this major step! By adhering to these simple guidelines, you may easily verify your UACE results and enjoy your successes.

Note that the results will be a key to wonderful academic prospects, take a break to appreciate the efforts and the sacrifice you made.
