Google’s New Gemini Features Unveiled in Cape Town: The AI in Action event which was held in Cape Town became an avenue for Google to reaffirm its dedication to making AI helpful for businesses.

The goal of the event was to educate businesses about the usefulness and benefits of adopting Gemini to scale up their operations in a constantly evolving landscape.

Talks revolving around the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in various industries, including marketing, healthcare, and tourism were discussed at the event.

Speakers discussed the importance of minimizing fear associated with AI and opening up people’s aperture to its possibilities. They also highlighted the unique capabilities of AI, such as multimodal responses.

Google’s Business Strategist for AI, Yvette Baez shared the company’s AI ideology.

He said, “AI has swiftly transformed from an intriguing concept into a powerful asset for businesses. Additionally, Google’s New Gemini Features Unveiled in Cape Town. Its capacity to stimulate economic growth and create unprecedented opportunities is undeniable.”

“No longer confined to text-based interactions, AI now offers a multisensory experience, delivering information through visual, auditory, and even video formats.”

“As such, our work in this area has focused on responsibly building helpful products and platforms that can assist businesses to improve and overcome their most pressing challenges – making otherwise static information, useful.”

Google’s New Gemini Useful To Business Owners

The Google team at the event announced that the company has expanded access to its AI models like Gemini 1.5 Pro in Vertex AI  for cloud customers and developers, and Open Model Gemma, designed to assist customers with various types of code.

“We are so excited about the possibility of what AI is affording us, and tomorrow. We are sharing examples of brands and marketers locally that are doing an excellent job adopting and adapting both predictive and generative AI for business purposes”, she added.

With Google’s New Gemini Features Unveiled in Cape Town, Gemini can now pull data from various Google services like Flights, Hotels, Maps, and YouTube.

These are in addition to Workspace data, which is helpful for upwardly mobile business executives. 

It allows business owners the opportunity to engage a collaborative creative partner that can help them make business decisions faster and drive better performance. 

Gemini can now be used to execute various tasks, which are not limited to research and content creation.
