About Us

Rural Farmers Hub is a Nigerian AgTech platform that collects and analyzes primary and secondary data from farmer groups and uses that data in e-extension and consulting services for smallholder farmers, showing how data can impact the agriculture sector significantly. 

We use web- and mobile-based technology to fill the extension worker gap in the agricultural sector in Africa. It is similar to a telehealth application, but for crops and soil. 

Our core product, Capture, offers precision management of crop health & soil nutrients with cloud-based automated assessment that creates intelligent maps to plan precision fixing of identified defects. Our agricultural services target under-served smallholder farmers.

Our History

Rural Farmers Hub (RFH) was founded in 2018 by Segun Adegun, a development professional, and Gabriel Eze, a technology professional and commercial farmer. We both come from farming backgrounds and was inspired to start this company after witnessing persistently low crop yield in our home village; plus there is a lack of agricultural support services there and several others communities. 

We know that solving this problem will solve 2 development challenges: food security and job security in the agricultural sector.

Precision management of crop health, soil nutrients, and soil moisture with cloud-based automated assessment that creates intelligent maps to plan precision schedules for fixing defects. 

We provide this and other agricultural services to farmers with medium to large operations who are lean on technology enablers.

Our core product, Capture, uses a proprietary algorithm and satellite data to generate near-real-time farming advice that is delivered to farmers through a mobile app.

Our agricultural services target under-served smallholder farmers.Capture uses our proprietary algorithm to post-process satellite and climate data in order to generate real-time farming advice that is delivered to farmers by SMS, voice, apps, and in-person. 

Through third parties, Rural Farmers Hub also provides additional inputs to help farmers increase their yields, such as improved seeds, fertiliser, digital finance services, tractor rental service, and produce offtake.
