In a move designed to empower and retain its driver partners, Bolt Nigeria has launched the Bolt Rewards programme, offering enticing fuel and insurance discounts.

This program comes amidst rising fuel costs, a major concern for ride-hailing drivers, and aims to provide much-needed financial relief and recognition for their contributions to the platform’s success.

A Multi-Tiered Approach to Driver Appreciation

The Bolt Rewards programme is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It takes a tiered approach, acknowledging the varying levels of commitment and performance demonstrated by drivers.

There are four tiers in the program: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.

Each tier unlocks progressively greater benefits, with the Platinum tier offering the most significant fuel and insurance discounts.

Fuel Discounts to Combat Rising Costs

One of the most crucial aspects of the Bolt Rewards programme is the fuel discount.

Recognizing the burden of rising fuel prices, Bolt Nigeria has partnered with Total Nigeria to offer drivers access to Total Cards.

These cards grant drivers discounts on fuel purchases at participating Total stations across the country, helping them save money on a critical operational expense.

In addition to earning fuel discounts, the program offers:

  • Discounted car washes: Enjoy a 30% discount on jet washes at participating Total stations.
  • Free roadside assistance: Get free AA rescue to the nearest Total station for up to 3 of your vehicles per year, but only if you’re located in PHC, Abuja, or Lagos.

Also, note that to be eligible for the fuel discounts, you need to be selected through a monthly lottery system based on top driver performance in your city.

This means not everyone who participates will win fuel discounts every month, but there are chances to participate throughout the year.

Eligibility and Earning Points

Drivers are automatically enrolled in the Bolt Rewards programme upon joining the Bolt platform.

Earning points is straightforward, with points awarded based on the number of completed rides each month.

The more rides a driver completes, the faster they climb the tiers and unlock the associated benefits, including fuel discounts.

Beyond Fuel: Additional Rewards and Recognition

The Bolt Rewards programme goes beyond just fuel discounts. Drivers in higher tiers can also enjoy insurance discounts, further reducing their financial burden.

The inclusion of insurance discounts in the Bolt Rewards programme further highlights Bolt’s commitment to prioritizing driver welfare and safety.

By providing access to discounted insurance packages, Bolt Nigeria is ensuring that its drivers have the necessary protection and coverage while on the road, ultimately promoting a safer and more secure working environment for all parties involved.

Additionally, the program serves as a valuable form of recognition for top performers, acknowledging their dedication and contribution to the platform’s smooth operation.

A Win-Win for Drivers and Bolt Nigeria

The launch of the Bolt Rewards programme is a strategic move by Bolt Nigeria that benefits both drivers and the company itself.

By offering fuel and insurance discounts, Bolt demonstrates its commitment to its driver partners, fostering a sense of loyalty and appreciation.

This, in turn, can lead to a more motivated and engaged driver workforce, ultimately contributing to a better overall user experience for Bolt customers.

A Look Ahead: Continued Investment in Driver Wellbeing

The Bolt Rewards programme is a testament to Bolt Nigeria’s commitment to its driver partners.

By offering tangible financial benefits and recognition, the program sets a positive precedent for the ride-hailing industry in Nigeria.

As Bolt Nigeria continues to grow, it is likely that the company will explore further avenues to invest in driver wellbeing and create a sustainable and rewarding ecosystem for all stakeholders.
