In a heartwarming display of inclusivity and community spirit, ride-hailing platform Bolt hosted a special Iftar dinner for its Abuja-based drivers on Monday night.
The event, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan, was an opportunity for the Muslim driver-partners to have their breakfast together and connect with their Christian colleagues.
The Iftar dinner was at Barcelona Hotel in Abuja, which offered a cozy and friendly environment for drivers after a long day on the road.
Imam Mansur Abubakar made evening prayers, which allowed those who were observing Ramadan to reflect and prepare themselves spiritually for the fast.
This mutual experience went beyond the limits of religion.
The dinner was instrumental in creating a sense of unity among Bolt’s diverse driver community.
Hamza Uthman, a Muslim driver-partner, said, “We are happy to break our fast with our Christian brothers and sisters. This is what Ramadan is about: uniting people.”
Bolt appreciated its committed drivers, particularly those who served the customers during Ramadan.
Iftar dinner served as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the platform.
“This is a very special event for us,” said a spokesperson of Bolt. “We are extremely proud to host an Iftar dinner for our hardworking driver-partners. This helps them to break their fast together in a friendly environment and also to establish meaningful relationships within the Bolt community.”
The exquisite menus presented an array of delectable cuisines, with something that would tempt everyone’s taste buds.
The relaxed and jovial atmosphere provided the drivers with the opportunity to talk, share stories and build stronger connections with each other.

More than just a meal, the Iftar dinner was a powerful representation of unity and understanding.
The dinner, in the opinion of the spokesperson, is a good example of what Bolt stands for in building a strong and inclusive community.
“We believe that everyone deserves to feel valued and respected, irrespective of their religious background,” the spokesperson added.
Iftar dinner in Abuja is a major move for Bolt in nurturing an inclusive and connected driver community.
Although the details of subsequent events have not been released, the favorable reception implies that this Ramadan tradition could become a regular feature for Bolt in Nigeria’s capital city.
By creating a platform where people can share experiences and which fosters belonging, Bolt is not only showing appreciation to its drivers but also creating a more robust and vibrant community within the ride-hailing industry.
