Samsung S24 has a 6.8-inch display that is Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It has Quad HD+ resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels, which means approximately 501 pixels per inch (ppi). Its refresh rate of 120Hz and ability to support HDR guarantee the smooth interactions and bright contrast.
The lab tests of PhoneArena reveal that the screen has a significant peak of 2600 nits which is easily visible even in the day sun. The screen is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 (commonly known as Gorilla Glass Armor) and it takes approximately 89.12 percent of the front panel.
This size, resolution and rapid refresh are what make the S24 Ultra screen one of the best in the market, this is a gaming, video and productivity screen.
Among the features of the S24 Ultra, the rear photographer is a quad-camera system. Its primary camera is a 200-megapixel (MP) sensor (Samsung ISOCELL HP2) that includes an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Laser Autofocus and a wide aperture (f/1.7). This sensor is ultra-high-resolution and it takes very detailed images and is able to work in low light.
Its 12MP ultra-wide (Sony IMX564) has a field of view of 120 degrees and is used to capture landscape and group shots. Next is two telephoto cameras; one 10MP tele which can have 3x optical zoom (Sony IMX754) and OIS to capture closer images and the other 50MP periscope tele which can have 5x optical zoom (Sony IMX854) and OIS.
Combined, they permit both medium and long-range zoom with only slight degradation in quality. The back system also has an LED flash, and it has the capability of capturing 8K at 30 fps or 4K at 120 fps. There is a 12MP selfie camera (PDAF, f/2.2) on the front and this can record 4K video at 60 fps.
To summarise, the cameras in the S24 Ultra capture all the situations: ultra-wide shots, daylight shots with high detail, zoom shots with long range and high quality videos. The camera test by PhoneArena scored it at 162 in photo score and 151 in video score (out of 200), which is representative of its imaging performance that is class leading.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset (4nm process) under the hood. This is an octa-core chip that consists of one high-speed Cortex-X4 core with a frequency of 3.39 GHz, five performance cores (3.1 GHz Cortex-A720), and two efficiency cores (2.2 GHz Cortex-A520). The graphics are processed by the Adreno 750.
Samsung includes the chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and internal UFS 4.0 storage. The non-expandable storage is 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The S24 Ultra has been tested with very high performance with a score of 2187 (single-core) and 6669 (Multi-core) on Geekbench 6 and 4960 (High) on 3Dmark GPU benchmarks (PhoneArena tests).
This will mean quicker app loading, seamless multitasking, and the highest quality of gaming in real life. The device is available with an operating system of Android 14 with Samsung One UI 6.1, and Samsung guarantees the future software support up to 7 OS updates (Android 14 to Android 21).

S24 Ultra is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. It can charge at 45W (enough to charge the battery in a short period of time), and can charge 15W wirelessly (or reverse wirelessly) to share power with other devices. The battery tests done by PhoneArena showed S24 Ultra to have a video playback duration of approximately 13.5 hours, a 20 hours browsing time and a general estimated battery life of 7 hours and 39 minutes of use under the heavy usage.
These findings represent very high-endurance, and this is partly attributed to efficiency enhancement in the chipset. The phone also lacks a replaceable battery just as it is the case in contemporary smart phones.
Samsung provides three storage capabilities of S24 Ultra; 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. All models come with 12GB RAM. It is worth noting that the Galaxy S24 Ultra cannot expand its memory through the use of microSD and thus the internal memory is non-expandable.
The increased storage capacity (512GB and 1TB) of the higher-capacity models could be more acceptable to power users with large media collections, since the two cameras have very large file sizes (200MB and 8K video). The starting 256GB will be enough storage capacity but serious gamers or photographers may upgrade to either 512GB or 1TB.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is based on Android with One UI 6.1 by Samsung. Samsung software is also full of features, as it supports productivity (Dex mode), advanced camera software and AI-based photography enhancements.
As noted, Samsung has committed to up to seven generations of Android updates, meaning this phone will be supported for many years. It has Samsung-related applications and services (such as Samsung Wallet, Samsung Health, and others) and Google services.
The S24 Ultra is compatible with the current standards of connectivity. It supports the newest Wi-Fi 7 on dual bands, has Bluetooth 5.3 with NFC contactless payments and even has Ultra Wideband (UWB) which allows it to be spatially aware with compatible devices. The phone is fully 5G-capable, cellular-wise. It is compatible with very broad supporting 5G bands (sub-6 and mmWave) as well as with 4G LTE, 3G and 2G networks.
This implies that it will operate on any contemporary network, in Nigeria, specifically, it will support all key LTE bands, and it is prepared to operate 5G wherever it is available in the nation. The device is Dual SIM (Nano-SIM + eSIM), which means that one could use two numbers at the same time.
The S24 Ultra comes with stereo speakers (one in the earpiece and the other at the bottom) that are tuned by AKG and interpret Dolby Atmos. It also has high-resolution Bluetooth codecs such as aptX and aptX-HD. And it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack like many of its level.
Practically the S24 Ultra provides clear and loud sound when listening to music and making calls and the stereo separation is quite good. It can use 3.5mm adapter when required through USB-C.

Samsung S24 Ultra is a smart phone with 5G capability. It provides the most recent 5G NR (New Radio) networks in sub-6GHz and mmWave. This implies that you will be able to access 5G where it is present and be able to access significantly faster download/upload speeds when compared to 4G LTE.
Naturally it also supports 4G LTE bands (and LTE-A Pro Cat20) and the previous 3G/2G standards. To conclude, S24 Ultra is compatible with all network generations, but it is also 5G ready as a flagship device.
Yes, Galaxy S24 Ultra has an official water and dust protection of IP68. IP68 implies that it is dust-proof and can be covered with anywhere up to 1.5 meters of freshwater and be left to submerge under it as long as 30 minutes without being damaged.
The frame of the phone is fashioned out of tough metal (titanium), and the rear is covered with Gorilla Glass Armor. It is also equipped with an in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in case of biometric security.
Practically, you should not even mind whether the S24 Ultra is exposed to rain or any accidental spills; the design by Samsung keeps it out of these factors.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is priced high in Nigeria as it is a high-end product. In Jumia, there are various listings with a broad spectrum based on storage and seller.
Indicatively, an example is that the 12GB/ 1TB, dual-SIM model is being priced at about N2,600,000 as of late 2025. The 12GB/512GB model goes at an approximate of N1,250,000 to N1,300,000 (with offers or discounts). Jumia sells the 12GB/256GB model at approximately N1,180,000 to N1, 260,000.
Official retailers or luxury electronics stores set higher prices high, e.g. one of the retailers sells the 12/256GB model at approximately N2,053,900.
Simply put, a new S24 ultra is likely to be priced far much higher than N1 million, regardless of the choice. The offerings may seem a few hundred less, however, in general, all options are within the multi-million naira price range on Jumia.
The second-hand units of the S24 Ultra that are used in the UK or imported are sold at lower prices as compared to the brand new models. An illustration is an example of a 256GB Galaxy S24 used in the UK which was sold in Lagos via Jiji at an average price of N1,180,000. This is an estimate of 10-15% lower than the cost of a similar new unit on Jumia.
In general, models used in the UK that have 12/256GB prices are approximately N1.1M-N1.3M, depending on condition and warranty. The increased capacity UK-used units (512GB or 1TB) will be more expensive, yet they are also likely to be less expensive than new rates.
The real price is subject to the local supply. To conclude, a UK-imported S24 Ultra may be found in the range of N1.2M with 256GB and possibly N1.4M with 512GB, but one must only purchase it in trustworthy hands.

Jiji is a classified marketplace where individuals and shops list phones. A search in Jiji Nigeria lets one find the new and used S24 Ultra. New (unused) 12GB/256GB models may be found in the region of N1,350,000 to N1,400,000, whereas used models are less expensive.

In the physical stores, you can buy the S24 Ultra at the official Samsung stores and other big electronic retailers.
