Egyptian Deep-tech Startup Nawah Scientific Secures $23M in Series A Funding Round

Egyptian deep-tech startup Nawah Scientific has just pulled in a huge $23 million Series A funding round. This Egyptian deep-tech and life science startup, which specializes in scientific and industrial testing services, is making waves by closing this big deal. It’s exciting to see a homegrown company like this level up in such a big way.

Nawah Scientific got started back in 2015, and it’s basically this handy online platform where scientists send in their experiment requests. The team collects the samples, runs all the tests, and shoots back the results digitally, no fuss, no need for fancy labs everywhere. The whole point is to let researchers do top-notch work from anywhere, even if they don’t have their own high-end lab setup.

That $23 million Series A round came as a smart mix of equity and debt. Life Ventures Holding took the lead on it, jumping in alongside heavy hitters like Den Ventures, Empire M, AfricInvest, and Elsewedy. Banks and some angel investors rounded out the group, showing real belief in what this Egyptian deep-tech and life science startup is building.

Now, with the cash in hand, Nawah Scientific has clear plans ahead. They’re putting money into three big areas: kicking off a massive 10,000-square-meter global R&D center right in Rwanda to boost their reach. They’ll also double up lab capacity in Egypt and Saudi Arabia to handle more demand. On top of that, expansion across North Africa and Europe is on the cards, helping this specialist in scientific and industrial testing services grow even bigger.

Founder and CEO Omar Shokry Saqr couldn’t be more pumped about it. He said this round really strengthens Nawah’s research and tech backbone heading into the next growth phase. For a company that’s been grinding since 2015 as an online platform for experiment requests, samples, tests, and digital results, it’s a game-changer that lets scientists chase higher quality research no matter where they are.
