The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made it clear that the reprinted UTME results in circulation are not from them. Recently, messages have been spreading online, asking candidates to reprint their examination slips for another resit examination. JAMB has firmly stated that these messages are fake and not issued by the board. The misleading texts are being sent through a spoofed version of JAMB’s official 66019 shortcode, designed to confuse candidates and possibly commit fraud.
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, explained that there is currently no scheduled resit examination. Candidates who have already taken the resit UTME and received their results should ignore any instructions to reprint slips or prepare for another exam. The board emphasized that the only upcoming exam they are planning, though not yet scheduled, is a foreign examination to be held in nine countries across Europe, the Middle East, and some African nations.

Furthermore, JAMB mentioned that a mop-up examination will be organized in 2025. This mop-up is only for candidates who missed the main or resit examinations due to biometric failures or those who have been granted waivers. Those eligible will be officially notified when preparations for this mop-up exam are finalized. JAMB urged the public and candidates to disregard any other messages about reprints or additional resit exams, as these are deceptive and not from the board.
This announcement comes amid ongoing issues with the 2025 UTME. Earlier, JAMB conducted a resit exam for over 300,000 candidates after technical glitches affected the initial exam held in April 2025. The resit took place from May 16 to May 19, 2025, following complaints and an audit that confirmed errors during the first exam. The resit results showed a significant improvement in candidates’ performance, making it the best since 2017.
Despite the improvement, the circulation of fake messages about reprinted UTME results has caused confusion among candidates. JAMB has reiterated that the reprinted UTME results in circulation are not from them and warned candidates to be cautious. They also reminded candidates that the official way to check results is through their designated shortcodes and not through any printed or paper format, as the board does not issue results in paper form.

JAMB insists that the reprinted UTME results in circulation are not from them. Candidates should ignore any messages asking them to reprint slips or prepare for another resit exam. The board is only planning a mop-up exam for specific cases and a foreign exam that is yet to be scheduled. JAMB calls on all candidates and stakeholders to wait for official communication and avoid falling victim to fraudulent messages circulating online.
