Curricula is a platform for cyber security awareness training that automates the creation, management, and delivery of cyber security education.
It was founded by Nicholas (Nick) Santora on March 9, 2015. Later in 2022, Huntress acquired Curricula for $22,000,000.
We know employees use computers all day, making them prime targets for hackers who want to steal data, money, intellectual property, and more.
We help teach your employees how to avoid getting hacked by sharing short, relatable stories throughout the year. These stories show what an attack looks like from different perspectives, helping employees understand and apply best practices in their daily lives.
To highlight vulnerabilities, we let our customers send simulated phishing attacks to their own employees. These exercises reveal how easily an organization can be breached.
Reducing the risk of cyber attacks is a major challenge for organizations today. Cyber security is frequently in the news, but the focus on the biggest risk—people—has been lacking.
Curricula Aware addresses this issue in two ways. First, it eliminates boring “Death By PowerPoint” training, which is ineffective. Instead, we use short animated adventures that tell engaging stories, making it easier for learners to understand and remember relevant cyber security information. The goal is to help learners recognize that these threats are real and to convey this message through storytelling.
Second, our platform automates the process for managers or organizations distributing training campaigns. We take care of the launch and management of these campaigns.
Many people don’t realize the true risk of a cyber attack until they experience one themselves.
Curricula’s vision is to transform cyber security training into an engaging, impactful experience. We aim to make learning simple, fun, and memorable, helping employees understand and apply best practices in their daily lives. Through relatable stories, interactive exercises, and a commitment to creativity and simplicity, we strive to create a safer digital world where people are empowered and informed.
Our team created Curricula to make training enjoyable so people would start caring about cyber security. While the topic is serious, we like to keep things light-hearted. We call ourselves the ‘Curriculoos’ and always seek ways to positively influence people’s lives.
At Curricula, we believe it’s not just about what we do, but how we do it. Our Curriculoos are committed to this mission and live by our core values.
Curricula offers the following services:
Curricula’s revenue model revolves around providing a subscription-based cyber security training platform that is engaging, effective, and continuously updated. By offering tiered pricing plans, custom solutions, simulated phishing attacks, and compliance tools, Curricula meets the diverse needs of its customers while ensuring a steady stream of revenue.
Huntress acquired Curricula, significantly boosting its resources and market reach. DIG SOUTH Tech Summit contributed in-kind services, enhancing Curricula’s operational capabilities. Equity funding came from several sources: Nick Santora, who provided crucial financial backing, Atlanta Tech Village, which offered a supportive entrepreneurial environment, and Village Verified, contributing to the company’s equity and strategic growth.
These investments have collectively empowered Curricula to innovate and expand its cyber security training platform.
