Vertiv Urges AI Collaboration: Telecommunications and data center providers are under increasing strain to meet the rapidly evolving demands that artificial intelligence (AI) is placing on their networks.
Vertiv calls for infrastructure vendors to coordinate with AI integration in the backdrop of these developments.
During a recent discussion with Kenyan telecom leaders, Jon Abbott Sales Director – Strategic Telecom Clients EMEA at Vertiv highlighted the importance of collaboration.
While the pace of AI adoption is accelerating, it puts additional stress on an IT infrastructure already barely able to meet existing needs.
Kenya as usual, rated third overall in Africa frequency of digital quality ratings shows a lag on AI readiness (93rd globally) industries, Abbott pinpointed.
The difference means rising demands push new architectures needed for advanced AI workloads transforming IT.
Abbott noted that the transition to AI will require significant operational adjustments, often unnoticed by consumers.
Among these changes, network ownership may shift and the cost of services could go up as they become more energy intensive.
Next he highlighted how vital it is to focus on efficient and sustainable efforts as part of the reduction plan by 2030.
The evolution will be interesting to watch, and the AI infrastructure of tomorrow can expect an even bigger edge computing adoption-related paradigm shift across both physical and logical infrastructures in collaboration with standardization.
Open-source projects are expected to grow and data processing capabilities will marry into network structures, spawning new ecosystems around private networks, Abbott said.

The Internet of Things (IoT) enables new efficiencies in every industry.
According to Abbott, IoT will come full circle with processing capabilities being distributed throughout the networks resulting in smaller localized units that optimize performance.
The result will be a greater market share for smaller edge data centers to complement still-needed large-footprint high-corruption locations in the center of giant melted putty piles, which are fundamentally identical to core operational demands including endless runtime and chill on tap.
Meeting these requirements can be quite difficult, especially in the provision of energy and sustainability.
The number of data consumers and producers is growing at an incredible rate, driven by AI.
This presents a formidable task for network providers.
The deployment process will be easier with the help of such a long term strategic partner that can address power and thermal management needs, Abbott concluded.
It is this dedication to cooperation and change which makes Vertiv some sort of linchpin at a landscape full associated with AI infrastructure difficulties.
