Uber Launches Uber Comfort in Kenya

Uber, one of the major ride-hailing services in the world, has introduced Uber Comfort in Nairobi, Kenya. This premium service is already available in 3 other African countries: Ivory Coast, Ghana, and South Africa.

Although the service is a little pricey from the other services under Uber, it’s worth the price.

It’s a new service that offers passengers extra features and legroom to make their ride comfortable and quiet. The extra legroom available in Uber Comfort is to provide more space for passengers to stretch their legs, which leaves them comfortable and relaxed. This is not necessary for other services available under Uber.

Uber Comfort In Kenya

The service of Uber Comfort is higher than the other services provided by Uber because of the new features introduced. The aim behind the Uber Comfort is to provide passengers with a spacious, luxurious, and comfortable method of moving around their cities.

But unlike in the more developed nations, using Uber Comfort, where SUVs and Luxury Cars like the Benz, Teslas, and Lexus are being used, Kenya will not experience that just yet.

Head of Uber East Africa, Imran Manji, says that there is no demand for that kind of luxury yet in Kenya.

“In the future, we may see that but at the moment, what we are offering are the seven-seater cars that are bigger and newer,” said Manji.

Unique Features Available On Uber Comfort

One of the major features is the increased legroom the cars in this category have. It ensures a more spacious and comfortable sitting area for the passengers.

The service is also expected to provide a quiet ride and so the vehicles used have noise-reducing materials to minimize the noise from outside.

Some of the vehicles also have adjustable temperature controls allowing the passengers to have control over the atmosphere in the car.

The drivers available in this category have a past record of providing awesome service to passengers in the past, that is, five-star rated drivers.

Furthermore, Uber Comfort will also extend the wait time up to 7 minutes, instead of the initial 5 minutes. This means when the ride arrives, there’s still the privilege to delay the driver for seven minutes before you start the trip.

These features as stated before, aim to provide a wonderful and comfortable experience for you.

Uber Comfort Requirement For Kenya Uber Drivers

To provide this service to the people of Nairobi, Kenya, Uber has to provide eligible drivers to fulfill the aim of the service. Eligible drivers are likely to earn more and get more compensation.

“With the launch of Uber Comfort in Nairobi, we are providing our most discerning passengers with a modern, spacious, and personalizable method of moving around our city, while also introducing more options for drivers to access economic opportunities,” said Mr Imran Manji.

Cars needed for this service must not be less than the 2015 car model and must be in good condition. Uber will confirm if the car passes the “Comfort” criteria.
