The Global Startup Award

Ethiopia is set to host the African Finale in October 2025. The stage is set for a progressive journey towards unlocking Africa’s true potential and shaping a future for generations to come.

What is The Global Startup Award About?

That summit is a medium for innovators to connect, and celebrate. Additionally, it propels Africa’s most innovative minds forward along with ambassadors, international investors, corporate leaders, and key government stakeholders.

Moreover, winners of the GSA gain exclusive access to the GIIG Africa fund and the Global Startup Awards Alumni Network. Additionally, it offers invaluable networking opportunities, mentorship, and connections with regional and global stakeholders.

The competition unfolds in four pivotal phases, and winners will embark on a journey through national and regional levels. After this, they converge at the summit and Finale in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in October 2025, while enjoying a week-long festival and awards dinner.

The Startup Awards are the Essence of African Entrepreneurship

GIIG co-founder, Jo Griffiths said, “GSA Africa is more than a competition. It champions the essence of African entrepreneurship and provides international visibility.

Also, it fosters potential investment opportunities through the GIIG Africa Fund. Last year’s remarkable participation of 8200+ entries from all 54 African Union member states was a remarkable achievement. Also, we look forward to seeing what 2025 holds.”

Applications for the 2025 GSA Africa are open and will close on May 5. Only eligible applicants will progress to the next round. For more information and to apply, visit www.globalstartupawardsafrica.com.
