Silicon Africa is looking for a passionate and skilled Tech News Reporters to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, developing, and managing high-quality digital tech news content for our website, ensuring that our coverage reflects the dynamic and diverse nature of Africa’s tech landscape.

Key Responsibility

Content Development: Generate compelling tech news articles, features, and reports that highlight key trends, innovations, and figures within the African tech scene.
Collaboration: Work closely with the design and development teams to ensure that the website’s functionality supports an engaging reader experience.
SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to enhance content visibility and drive user engagement, including keyword optimization, meta descriptions, and more.
Content Audits: Regularly review existing content to identify opportunities for improvement, updating, or repurposing to maintain relevance and engagement.
Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of global and regional tech trends, ensuring that Silicon Africa’s content is timely, informative, and ahead of the curve.
Consistency: Maintain a consistent style, quality, and tone across all digital content to reinforce Silicon Africa’s brand and voice in the tech community.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tech journalism or digital content creation, with a deep understanding of the African tech ecosystem.
Proficiency in SEO tools and strategies, with a track record of enhancing web content visibility.
Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex tech concepts into accessible content.
Must be based in an English-speaking African country, excluding Nigeria. Preferred countries include Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, and Botswana, among others.
