The wait is finally over for students, parents, and guardians across Uganda! The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the much-anticipated 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results.
This crucial milestone represents the completion of primary education and opens up the way for students to move on to secondary school.
If you are excited about getting your 2025 UNEB PLE results, this complete guide will show you the two main methods offered by UNEB: SMS (text message) and UNEB eResults online portal.
Before starting off with the process, make sure that you have the following information at hand:
Candidate’s Full Index Number: This unique identifier is usually on the candidate’s examination registration slip. It’s an important piece of information for obtaining the results.
This method provides a convenient and easily accessible option for people with mobile phones. Here is a step-by-step explanation:
1. Open your phone’s messaging app. This may be your default messaging app or a third party app of your choice.
2. Create a new message. You will have to start a new message thread where you will be sending the request to UNEB.
3. Compose your message. In the body of the new message, type “PLE” followed by a space and then the candidate’s full index number. For example, if the index number is 004401/380, you would type “PLE 004401/380”. Ensure there are no spaces between “PLE” and the index number.
4. Send the message. Once you have re-verified that the message is accurate, send it to shortcode 6600. This shortcode works on all mobile networks in Uganda.
5. Receive your results. Within a short period, you should receive a reply message containing the candidate’s 2025 UNEB PLE results .This message will detail their performance in each subject they were tested on.
For those who have internet access, there is another way of obtaining your results online. The UNEB eResults online portal gives step-by-step directions to retrieve your results. Below are the steps:
1. Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device and go to the UNEB eResults landing page. This page can be found by searching for “UNEB eResults” online.
2. If you’re a first-time user, you’ll need to register for an account on the UNEB eResults portal. This registration process is simple and requires basic information.
3. Once you’ve registered or if you’re an existing user, log in to your UNEB eResults account using your registered credentials.
4. Choose the test and the year. After logging in, you will be presented with choices for the test and year. Select “PLE” for exam type and “2025” for year.
5. Type in the candidate’s index number. In the space provided, type in the candidate’s complete index number.
6. Submit your request. After verifying the details, submit your request.
7. View your results. The UNEB eResults portal will show you candidate’s 2025 UNEB PLE results, including their subject-by-subject breakdown.

Charges for standard messages apply to SMS results. Even though checking results through SMS is convenient, it’s important to consider that standard message charges set by your mobile network provider will be applicable.
Have a strong internet connection when using online results. If you decide to use the online method, ensure you have a stable internet connection to prevent any disruptions during the process.
It’s the official results that count. The results that are available to you either via SMS or through the online portal are just for informational purposes. The UNEB PLE official results will be sent to the candidate’s school for record-keeping purposes.
Kudos to all students who took part in the 2025 UNEB PLE exams. Irrespective of the results, this is a huge achievement.
Now that you have your results, use them to plan for your next chapter in your educational journey.
Don’t forget that these results do not measure your potential. By being dedicated and hardworking, you will be able to achieve great things in secondary school and beyond.
