NDPC Warns Nigerians About the Vulnerabilities in Google Chrome

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has warned Nigerians about vulnerabilities in Google Chrome that could put their personal information and devices in danger. These weaknesses in the Chrome browser can let bad people run harmful software on your computer without your knowledge. This could give them control over your personal files and even your whole device.

Other agencies like the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have also raised concerns about similar risks.

Last year, he revealed the commission was looking into 17 major cases of data breaches in different areas like banking, education, and technology. This came after the NDPC received over 1,000 complaints, showing how serious data security problems are in Nigeria.
