MTN unveils a new era of tech partnership in Uganda, and it’s big news for everyone in the country. MTN Uganda and its Mobile Money (MoMo) service are teaming up with the government to help Uganda move forward with digital technology. Their goal is to make life easier for Ugandans by bringing in new digital solutions and making sure more people can access financial services, even if they live far from the city or don’t have a bank account.

This new era of tech partnership in Uganda started with a special event at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel. MTN Uganda and MoMo, together with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, invited top government officials and technology leaders to sit down and talk about how they can work together. The meeting, called the MTN ICT Government Round Table, was all about finding ways to use technology to improve important government services for everyone.

Richard Yego, who is the CEO of MoMo, said the meeting was a huge step for Uganda’s plan to become more digital. He explained that MTN’s tech partnership in Uganda isn’t just about talking, it’s about working together to create real solutions. For example, they’re already helping schools collect fees digitally, making it easier for parents and teachers. They’re also working on smart ways for farmers to get paid, and helping the government offer more services online.

Sylvia Mulinge, the CEO of MTN Uganda, said that working closely with the government is the best way to help more people use financial services. She pointed out that with these new digital tools, it’s easier to collect payments and keep track of where the money goes. This means things can run more smoothly and honestly, which is good for everyone.

Ibrahim Senyonga, who leads MTN Uganda’s business team, said that MTN is now more than just a phone company. They are becoming a real technology partner, helping businesses and government offices connect and work better together. He said, “We are now a full technology partner, shaping solutions that power institutions, connect systems, and unlock potential across every sector.”

Thanks to MTN’s new era of tech partnership in Uganda, there are already some great changes happening. With MTN MoMo, millions of Ugandans can now send money, save, pay school fees, and even get small loans using just their phones. MTN has also joined hands with banks and other companies to bring in new services like MoKash for instant loans, MyXeno for investments, and Clinic Pesa for saving for health needs. These services are helping people who may not have had access to banks before.

MTN is also working hard to improve internet and network coverage, bringing faster 4G and 5G connections to more places. They’re supporting government projects like the National Digital Census and making it easier to pay for public services online.

All these efforts show that MTN’s tech partnership in Uganda is about making sure everyone, no matter where they live, can enjoy the benefits of digital technology. By working together with the government and other partners, MTN Uganda is helping to build a brighter, more connected future for all Ugandans.
