Morocco plans to host the GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech, affirming its leadership in the digital transformation of Africa. Marrakech will turn into an innovation hub hosting more than 45,000 participants from over 130 countries between April 14-16, 2025.
The event takes place under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, organized by the Ministry for Digital Transition and Administration Reform with the support of the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and KAOUN International. GITEX Africa has become the largest technology and startup event on the continent. The next edition is certainly going to be bigger and more transformative.

GITEX Africa 2025 is expected to have more than 1,450 exhibitors, and top technology corporations will present (AI), digital infrastructure, new technological ecosystems, and Africa’s contribution to the global technology marketplace. Countries like Gabon, Zambia, Belgium and Uzbekistan will attend the event for the first time, showcasing the growing global scope of the event.
Morocco focuses on creating a wider startup ecosystem and fostering innovation in Africa. You can expect to see a host of programs at the event such as SheWins Africa, which backs female-led startups, and the Supernova Challenge, the biggest early-stage startup competition in Africa.
Moreover, more than 350 investors from across 35 countries will be present giving young minds the opportunity to raise funds for impactful ideas. Big organizations like the European Innovation Council (EIC), and International Finance Corporation (IFC) will also support African Startups.
Several new initiatives will be launched at GITEX Africa 2025 to take the African digital future forward. The Africa Future Connectivity Summit will work towards expanding broadband and 5G networks across Africa. The Diaspora Studio connects African innovators across the globe with local tech ecosystems through partnerships and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Global tech giants that will participate in this year’s event include Cisco, Nokia, Ericsson, Salesforce and many more. These companies will not only showcase their latest innovations but also seek new business opportunities in Africa. Companies like Presight and Saudi Made which are from the Middle East will also be there. This shows that GITEX Africa is an international event.
This year there will be a focus on many sectors not just limited to AI and cybersecurity. Other areas which will be covered include energy transition, agritech, edtech, sports technologies and healthtech. This reflects Morocco’s vision to become a global centre for technological innovation. The event will be hosted in Marrakech. The city is rich in history and architecture, giving it a perfect environment for this first-ever event.
As Morocco gears up to host GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech, it reaffirms its status as a catalyst of digital transformation across Africa. Backed by institutions like Royal Air Maroc and ONCF and showing the country’ commitment to making it a resounding success. This event does not only exhibit technology, but it also brings together inventions that will determine the future of the continent as a global tech giant.
