inDrive is launching a super-app for frontier markets, and it’s a big step for the company. This new app will bring together lots of everyday services all in one place, making life easier for many people. They are starting with grocery delivery in Kazakhstan, and they plan to offer more services in countries like Egypt, Brazil, Colombia, Pakistan, Peru, and Mexico over the next year.
The reason inDrive is launching a super-app is that their delivery service is growing really fast. In 2024, they completed over 41 million delivery orders, and just in the second quarter of 2025, they did 14 million orders. Because of this strong growth, the company decided to put groceries first in their super-app.

In Kazakhstan, the new inDrive super-app for frontier markets promises customers grocery deliveries in just 15 minutes. They will offer more than 5,000 items using something called a dark-store model, which means groceries come from special warehouses, not stores. This helps speed up delivery. Early tests were very successful, with happy customers ordering an average of five times a month. Since August, inDrive has added 30% more of these dark stores to serve more people.
A big part of the plan is working with local businesses. In Kazakhstan, inDrive is teaming up with a local grocery company called Nearby/Ryadom. This helps keep prices low and choices wide, matching inDrive’s promise of fair pricing. Andries Smit, inDrive’s chief growth officer, said that if people use the app more often for daily needs, they stay loyal and become more valuable to the company.
Egypt is next on the list to get the inDrive super-app. The company already has ride-hailing and delivery services there and thinks frontier markets like Egypt are perfect for combining affordable and useful services. In Egypt, inDrive plans to mix dark stores with partnerships with small local grocery shops, making the service fit well with people’s everyday shopping habits.
inDrive’s new super-app is backed by a big user base too. Over 360 million people have downloaded the app, and they have completed 6.5 billion transactions worldwide. The app is now available in 982 cities across 48 countries, which gives the company a strong start as it adds more services.
Groceries are only the beginning for the inDrive super-app. The company will offer different services based on what each city needs most. This includes financial services, already available for drivers in some Latin American countries, and soon possibly for passengers and small businesses too. These services include small cash loans and income-based financing, which can help keep customers coming back.
There are also plans to add small electric vehicles and better connections to public transport and local shops. The goal is to have people use the app for many daily tasks. If they can book rides, order groceries, handle money, and more all in one app, they will keep using it longer and more often.
Frontier markets are crowded but people care a lot about price. inDrive’s strength comes from its ride-hailing model where prices are set by negotiation between drivers and riders.
