Vodacom and Huawei have joined forces to launch the DigiTruck, a mobile classroom designed to bring digital education to remote communities in Tanzania.
The innovative project is part of the broader DigiTruck initiative, which aims to bridge the digital divide and provide access to technology and education in underserved areas.
The DigiTruck, a recycled shipping container converted into a mobile school, is equipped with laptops, smartphones, and a reliable 4G internet connection.

This innovative setup will provide free digital skills training, particularly targeting rural and underserved areas.
Philip Besiimire, CEO and Managing Director of Vodacom Tanzania, emphasized the significance of this partnership with Huawei in delivering critical digital education.
Additionally, through this initiative, Vodacom and Huawei are making significant strides toward digital inclusion, ensuring that every Tanzanian has the opportunity to engage with and benefit from the digital economy.
The DigiTruck’s curriculum covers a wide range of digital skills, including computer literacy, internet usage, and digital entrepreneurship. Besides, by equipping students with these skills, the project is creating opportunities for economic growth and social development in remote communities.
