The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is inviting African entrepreneurs who want to bring their business dreams to life to apply for the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme. This incredible opportunity is amazing and offers a non-returnable seed capital of $5,000 to selected participants.

The programme, which is run by the Tony Elumelu Foundation, is a long-term commitment of $100 million aimed at identifying, training, mentoring, and funding 10,000 African entrepreneurs by 2024. If chosen, you’ll be taught through online training, have access to an exceptional mentor, and have $5,000 in seed capital to test out your business idea. Additionally, you’ll have access to further funding opportunities and become part of the TEF startup network. Amazing!

Goals of The Tony Elumelu Foundation Programme 

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme is a remarkable initiative with a $100 million commitment from the Elumelu family. Their goal is to empower 10,000 African entrepreneurs over a decade through training, mentorship, and financial support. By creating millions of jobs and generating sustainable revenue, this programme aligns with the Africapitalism philosophy, which recognizes the private sector as a catalyst for Africa’s growth and emphasizes the importance of creating social and economic wealth. It’s an exciting opportunity for African entrepreneurs like you! 

To be eligible for the program, you need to meet the following criteria:

– You should be a citizen or legal resident of any of the 54 African countries.

– Your proposed business must be registered and operate within Africa.

– You must be at least 18 years old, and there is no upper age limit.

– Whether you’re an outstanding entrepreneur with an existing high-growth startup or an aspiring business owner with transformative ideas, you can apply.

– Your business should be either a business idea or an early-stage company, between 0 to 3 years old.

– Your application should focus on one business only.

– They are particularly interested in increasing representation from French, Arabic, and Portuguese speakers, as well as female entrepreneurs.

– Please note that research institutions, faith-based organizations, value-adding trading companies, government contractors, and businesses located outside of Africa are not eligible.

– Your business ideas should not have a negative impact on the environment, lives, or property. They should be for-profit and original creations by the individuals making the submission.
