Paratus Opens New Operations in Rwanda, Boosting East African Ties
The Paratus Group is growing bigger in East Africa by opening new operations in Rwanda. This move is helping to boost ties between countries in the region. Paratus already works in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, and now, by starting up in Rwanda, they’ll bring fast and reliable internet to many businesses across the country using Starlink satellite technology.
Last year, in 2023, Paratus became the African distributor for Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellites. These satellites offer internet service from space and can reach places where regular internet cables just can’t. So, with Paratus opening in Rwanda, more businesses will get connected, especially in areas that didn’t have good internet before.

Schalk Erasmus, the CEO of Paratus Group, said they are building a strong internet network across Africa by investing in people, services, and infrastructure. He said Rwanda’s fast-growing market fits well with their plans, and having Paratus in Rwanda means they can serve customers better with reliable internet.
Martin Cox, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, said opening in Rwanda shows Paratus’s plan to connect more people across Africa. They want to help unlock Rwanda’s potential with better internet access.
