UberEats Launches in Kisumu

Expansion is a major goal of all relevant businesses and Uber is no exception. The ride-hailing platform has launched its food delivery wing, UberEats, in Kisumu.

This significant move will bring Kisumu’s citizens different food and service options while expanding Uber’s reach on an advanced level.

UberEats is currently present in six cities in Kenya. It’s present in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Nakuru, and Naivasha. This reveals Uber’s determination to expand and offer its services to meet people’s needs. 

Kui Mbugua, General Manager, UberEats Kenya, said: “Our expansion into Kisumu is a necessity. It is a key moment for us as we bring our unique offering of on-demand commerce, selection, and affordable offerings to the residents of Kisumu.” 

UberEats claims to seek ways to improve the overall delivery experience and contribute to the local economy in Kisumu. The platform plans to do this by supporting restaurants and retailers in the city. 

UberEats Contributes to Local Economy 

The expansion also offers value to a lot of small businesses, as it expands their reach and allows easy access to their services. County Executive Member (CEC) of Trade, Tourism, and Industry, Farida Salim, said, “We are pleased to welcome Uber Eats to Kisumu County.  Also, we anticipate significant value being created for restaurants and small businesses.”

UberEats represents a partnership between the private and public sectors. In addition, this collaboration yields benefits for individuals, businesses, and the community at large.

The expansion is a huge opportunity for retailers, as it offers benefits and opportunities that can be tapped into. 

Finally, the UberEats app provides a variety of goods and services that will spark consumer’s interests. The variety includes Liquor, Health-related services, Everyday essentials, and others. Also, the app is a perfect platform to satisfy both sellers’ and consumers’ needs and wants.
