The Rwanda ICT chamber has launched Innovate4DigiJobs to empower youth and help them find their place in the growing digital economy. This new initiative, called Innovate4DigiJobs, was launched in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of Luxembourg. The main goal is to give young people in Rwanda the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the world of technology and digital jobs.
At the launch event, Alex Ntale, CEO of the Rwanda ICT Chamber, explained that Innovate4DigiJobs is not just another competition. He said the real aim is to make a difference in people’s lives, not just to make money. “Innovate4DigiJobs is not just about winning a competition – it’s about the impact we’re targeting. If your passion is about changing lives, not just chasing profits, we want to make sure you’re not left behind,” Ntale said. This shows that the Rwanda ICT chamber’s Innovate4DigiJobs to empower youth is focused on real, lasting change.

Fatima Elsanousi Sirelkhatim, a project manager for the ILO in Rwanda, also spoke at the event. She said that as Rwanda’s digital economy grows, it is important to make sure everyone gets a fair chance. “It is vital to ensure no one is left behind,” she said. This means that Innovate4DigiJobs is open to all young people, no matter their background, and wants to make sure everyone can benefit from digital jobs.
Ngabo Brave, who works at Rwanda’s Ministry of Youth and Arts, also shared his thoughts. He warned that having digital skills is not enough if they are used in the wrong way. He encouraged young people to use their talents to help others and create positive change. “It would be unfortunate to have digital skills and apply them in the wrong way. Innovate4DigiJobs paves a meaningful path for young people to leverage their digital talents the right way,” he said.
