Moniepoint Inc. was named a Leader on the Time100 2025 companies list. Founded in 2015 by Tosin Eniolorunda and Felix Ike, Moniepoint started as a company providing payment infrastructure for banks. Over time, it transformed into a full business banking platform, helping small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria move from cash-based operations to digital banking. This shift became especially important during Nigeria’s 2023 cash crisis, when Moniepoint kept millions of businesses running by processing digital payments when cash was scarce.

Now, Moniepoint reportedly processes over 800 million transactions every month, valued at around $17 billion. It offers businesses tools for payments, loans, expense management, and even insurance, making life easier for everyone from small shop owners to larger vendors. In 2024, Moniepoint raised $110 million from big investors like Google, earning it “unicorn” status, a rare achievement for African startups.

Moniepoint’s CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, described the Time100 2025 companies recognition as a “powerful validation” of their mission to create financial happiness for millions of people and businesses in Africa. He said, “From enabling over 10 million businesses to accept payments, access working capital, and run their operations digitally, to supporting everyday Africans through innovative financial solutions, we are proud of the role we play in powering dreams while transforming lives and livelihoods”.
