Company Sues Glo, NCC, and Megatech Over $9.57 Million Contractual Payment Dispute

Mosakab Nigeria Limited and its promoter Mashood Mustapha have taken Glo Mobile Limited, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and Megatech Engineering Limited to the Federal High Court in Abuja. The dispute revolves around an alleged breach of a contractual agreement, with Mosakab claiming damages worth over N20 billion.

The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1534/2024, centers on a $9.57 million outstanding payment linked to a consultancy agreement. Mosakab wants the court to void the sale of a Spectrum Licence in the 2.6 GHz Band from Megatech to Glo Mobile, arguing the sale was made through fraud and illegality.

In the lawsuit, Megatech, Glo Mobile, and the NCC are named as the first, second, and third defendants respectively. The suit was filed by George Ibrahim SAN from the Ogwu James Onoja SAN law firm. Mosakab is asking the court to order Megatech to pay the $10 million they owe under a consultancy deal signed back in June 2017. They also want the NCC to revoke the Spectrum Licence issued to Megatech in March 2020 since the NCC issued it after Mosakab’s consultancy.

According to Mosakab’s claims, Megatech brought them on board in 2017 to help secure and facilitate the 2.5/2.6 GHz Band licence for national operation. They say they fulfilled their consultancy role and are entitled to the unpaid $9,578,947 balance. On top of that, the plaintiffs want the court to make the defendants cover N50 million in legal fees.

Justice Mohammed Garba Umar has scheduled the hearing for March 3, 2026. This is now one of the major lawsuits involving telecommunication players in Nigeria, focusing heavily on an over $9.57 million contractual payment dispute between these companies.
