Apple Vision Pro market struggle: Apple’s biggest new product, Vision Pro, is reportedly facing certain challenges.
An analyst speaking with Bloomberg said the product will struggle to reach a large market, and its sales are expected to plummet in the US.
The Vision Pro is wildly expensive, with a curated but limited feature set and deep integrations with other Apple products.
The product was announced at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2023, but didn’t see a launch in the US until the start of February.
However, the International Data Corporation (IDC) claims that Apple’s Vision Pro has failed to reach more than 100,000 sales per quarter since its launch.
The organization went on to say that the gadget’s international launch at the end of June will offset weakness in the US.
A more affordable edition, which IDC estimates would cost roughly half as much, should rekindle interest in 2025, but sales may not rise meaningfully over the coming year.

Francisco Jeronimo, vice president at IDC, said, “The Vision Pro’s success, regardless of its price, will ultimately depend on the available content.
As Apple expands the product to international markets, local content must be also made available.”
Noting the slow response, Apple has been working to enhance the capabilities of the VisionPro to make it more appealing.
Recently the company revealed plans to bring various AI-powered features to the mixed reality headset.
It has also spurred a rethink among Apple’s management, with the company planning a more budget-friendly version of the device.
However, these updates are not expected until 2025, and may come too slowly for Apple to make a decent dent in an already competitive market.
IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo anticipates that it will more than double sales when it arrives in the latter half of next year. He also highlighted that the device’s success will ultimately depend on the available content.
