Airtel Nigeria’s Revenue has Increased by 46.5% to $699 Million in H1 of 2025

Airtel Nigeria’s revenue has increased by 46.5% in H1 2025, hitting a big $699 million for the six months ending September 30, 2025. This jump shows how much more people are using their data services and how the recent price changes really kicked in to boost earnings. The company shared these numbers with the Nigerian Stock Exchange and it’s clear Airtel Nigeria is growing fast in the telecom space.

One of the biggest reasons Airtel Nigeria’s revenue has increased by 46.5% to $699 million is that they now have almost 10% more customers, 53.6 million compared to 48.7 million last year. That makes them the second biggest mobile network in Nigeria, right after MTN. Plus, more people are surfing the internet with Airtel, 29.5 million internet users, up 12.2% from before.

Money-wise, Airtel Nigeria did great. Their earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (that’s EBITDA for short) went up by almost 65% in naira and nearly 72% in dollars, reaching $393 million. This difference is mostly because Nigeria’s currency, the naira, lost some value. Still, the company’s profit margin got a big boost to 56.3% thanks to more revenue, smarter spending, steady fuel prices, and better overall business conditions.

The company also noted a 107.2% increase in operating free cash flow, bringing it to $319 million, which helped them improve profits even more. Plus, free cash flow itself grew by 95%, showing they’re running things more efficiently.

Looking closer at where the money is coming from: voice calls made $268 million, that’s 34.7% more, and that’s thanks to users spending more on calls. Data brought in even more cash, $357 million, up 62.4%, as more customers used data and spent more per user. Smartphone users are also on the rise, now making up 52.8% of Airtel’s base, with data usage per user jumping almost 25% to 10.1 GB a month.

Airtel Nigeria’s revenue has increased by 46.5% to $699m in H1, but there’s more. Their mobile money service isn’t growing as fast here as in places like East Africa. That’s because there’s tough competition from fintech companies like Moniepoint, OPay, Kuda, and Palmpay. But even so, mobile money customers grew 46.1%, from 1.4 million to 2 million, and the revenue doubled to $4 million. Still, mobile money is just a tiny part (0.64%) of Airtel Africa’s total $623 million mobile money earnings.

For the third quarter ending September 2025, Airtel Nigeria’s total revenue was $366 million, almost 50% more than last year, made up of $135 million from voice, $192 million from data, and $2 million from mobile money, with other income adding $39 million. Their strong EBITDA margin of 56.5% shows they’re keeping costs in check.

To sum up, Airtel Nigeria’s revenue has increased by 46.5% in H1 2025 thanks to more users, higher data demand, and smart business moves. This growth story shows they’re becoming a major force in Nigeria’s telecom world, figuring out how to work well even when the local currency is shaky. With smartphone users and data jumping, Airtel Nigeria is clearly set for more success ahead.
