AltSchool Africa is Set to Introduce Nano-diploma, a Self-paced Learning Model

AltSchool Africa is set to introduce Nano-diploma, a new kind of learning that lets people study at their own pace. This self-paced learning model is designed for those who want to learn new skills quickly and without the usual long wait times of traditional courses.

AltSchool Africa, one of the biggest e-learning platforms in Africa, knows that many people have busy lives and can’t always commit to long classes. That’s why they created the AltSchool Africa Nano-diploma. It helps people finish courses much faster than the regular diploma. Usually, their diploma courses take about a year, but this Nano-diploma lets learners move ahead as fast or as slow as they want.

The Head of Global Operations at AltSchool Africa, Nifemi Akinwamide, talked about this new idea. He said, “The Nano-diploma is for people who don’t have time to wait twelve months to finish a diploma. It’s meant to help them get skills faster.” This shows how important the self-paced learning model is for people who need quick and easy access to useful knowledge.

With the AltSchool Africa Nano-diploma, learners won’t feel rushed or held back. They can study whenever they have time, making it perfect for workers or busy professionals. The platform uses smart AI tools to help learners by giving quick reminders and summaries, so it’s easier to understand and remember what they study.

This new self-paced learning model is very flexible. You can focus on the main parts of a course and finish it as soon as you want. Nifemi compared it to popular online platforms like Coursera and Udacity, saying it’s fast, simple, and clear. You just sign up, start learning, and finish at your own speed.

Right now, AltSchool Africa is testing the Nano-diploma with 1,000 early users to make sure it works well. If you want to join, there is a link open for people to sign up and try it out during this test time.

The Nano-diploma is different from the usual diploma because it does not have strict start dates, entrance exams, or long breaks. Anyone over 14 years old can join and start learning right away. This opens up learning chances for both young people and adults interested in tech.

Not all diploma courses will be available on the Nano-diploma at first, but AltSchool Africa plans to add more options soon. Nifemi said, “We will keep adding new programs so learners can choose different career paths, not just the courses we already have.”

Another cool thing about the AltSchool Africa Nano-diploma is that learners can earn points as they study. These points can later be turned into money, giving extra motivation to keep learning.

The cost of the Nano-diploma is also very low. While the full diploma costs about $310, the Nano-diploma course costs only $30, paid once. If someone wants to take another course later, they just pay $30 again for that program. Nifemi explained, “For example, if you want to learn generative AI, it costs $30. If you want more courses, you pay for each separately.”

Even though the Nano-diploma is not fully launched yet, AltSchool Africa is openly sharing updates as they build it. This way, people can know what’s new and be part of the process.

The AltSchool Africa Nano-diploma is another step in their plan to make learning easy and available to everyone. Just recently, they also started online tech classes for teenagers, letting young people discover their talents and learn tech skills early in life. They believe kids don’t need to wait until university to start building skills that will help their future.

AltSchool Africa is set to introduce Nano-diploma as a smart and flexible way to learn. It gives people the chance to gain new skills quickly and affordably. With this self-paced learning model, more people in Nigeria and across Africa will have the tools they need to succeed in today’s fast world.
